Coming back to this story after my relatively long hiatus was a little weird. It took me a while and a lot of discarded tries before I felt like I was writing the same story again. I've had some positive responses to the story since I came back, and I hope that you guys will enjoy what happens next.

I want to try and keep track of how the writing is going. Right now I've been doing this for a little more than a month, and I'm quite happy with it. I've had a few people comment on what I have so far and it's been very interesting to get a second opinion. For instance, I've been completely unaware that I tend to tell people what is happening instead of showing it by describing it.
I thought I was simply telling the story halfway from one character's perspective, but that is obviously not how it feels when you guys read it. So in the next few weeks I'll concentrate on changing that as I go.
I'm not going to go over the first five chapters and change them. I might do that in the future, but for now I want to keep writing and see where that takes me. I'm hoping that the continuous writing will force me to change my style more rapidly than if I get myself stuck in an endless process of editing (which I would if this was a serious project designed to earn me a living).
By the time I feel that the story has ended, I still have the option to go back and add details or even rewrite. And I look forward to see what difference this entire thing will do for me.
